CapeFLYER Station Opens In Wareham
CapeFLYER, the weekend summertime rail service from Boston to Hyannis, will make its first stop at Wareham Village Station on Friday, the MBTA said.
“I’m thrilled to see CapeFLYER expanding its service; meeting the growing demand for quick, stress-free, affordable transportation to the Cape,” Beverly Scott, general manager of the MBTA, said in a statement.
The new stop is located off Main Street in Wareham, and plans for its development were first announced by Gov. Deval Patrick last October.

Transportation (@MassDOT) June 26, 2014A roundtrip ticket from the Wareham Village Station stop to Hyannis is $8, according to the statement. From Boston's South Station to Wareham Village, a roundtrip ticket costs $35.
The train line also stops in Braintree, Middleborough/Lakeville, Buzzard’s Bay and Hyannis.
The CapeFLYER runs on weekends until Labor Day.
The CapeFLYER has carried 16,500 riders and drummed up at least $290,756 in fare revenue since its inaugural run in May of 2013, the statement said.
