Harpoon Brewery Transfers Half Its Shares To Employees

Boston-based Harpoon Brewery is transferring half its shares to employees.

Co-founder Dan Kenary is a supporter of employee stock ownership plans.

"The right thing to do was to, you know, give the employees of this company the opportunity to you know, really share in what we've created here," Kenary said.

Kenary says the ultimate goal is to be 100 percent employee-owned.

Harpoon, the 12th largest craft brewery in the country, has just under 200 employees.
