Ex-Patriot Hernandez's Fiancee Wants Text Messages

A lawyer for the fiancee of Aaron Hernandez wants Massachusetts prosecutors to turn over text messages including one in which the ex-New England Patriot allegedly told her in code to damage a video surveillance hard drive.

Shayanna Jenkins' attorney is also asking a judge to order prosecutors to turn over any messages that are "consistent with her being asked to remove items" from their home. In addition, Janice Bassil wants any evidence that Jenkins threatened to report maids who cleaned the house to immigration authorities if they cooperated with police in the investigation.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the 2013 killing of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd. Jenkins has pleaded not guilty to perjury.

Prosecutors haven't yet responded to the filing. A spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
