The Boston Celtics are a month into the season and, so far, the team is struggling.

They ended a five-game losing streak Wednesday night by beating the Detroit Pistons in overtime at the Garden. But that may not be much of an accomplishment. It was the Piston's 10th-straight loss.

The Celtics are currently in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, with a 5-11 win-loss record.

Bob Ryan, a semi-retired Boston Globe sports columnist and author of the new book, "Scribe: My Life in Sports," joined Morning Edition to talk about the team's so-far sluggish season.

This segment aired on December 4, 2014.
