Gubernatorial portraits are on the move at the Statehouse.
Gov. Charlie Baker has chosen the portrait of the late Republican Gov. John Volpe to hang in his private office. The choice was an easy one for Baker. Volpe was U.S. Secretary of Transportation under Richard Nixon and Baker's father served under Volpe as an assistant secretary.
Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito has chosen the portrait of the late Gov. Paul Cellucci to hang in her Statehouse office. Cellucci also served as the state's lieutenant governor before becoming the state's chief executive.
The portraits were moved this week from the outer office of the governor's third-floor suite.
Joining the remaining portraits on the walls is one of former Gov. Deval Patrick, whose term ended last week.
