MBTA's Suspended Rail Service Snarls Commute

MBTA statistics indicate well over a million people in Great Boston count on public transportation each day to get to work, school or wherever else they need to go.

But for most of them, that was not an option Tuesday. As workers tried to clear snow and ice from rail tracks and make repairs to equipment, the T offered only limited bus service and no rail service.
