The state gaming commission meets Thursday to discuss the future of casino gambling in southeastern Massachusetts now that a tribal casino in Taunton looks more likely. It's the first meeting since the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe was granted land in trust by the federal government.

Father Richard McGowan, an adjunct associate professor at Boston College and an expert on casinos and gaming, joined Morning Edition to discuss the proposals.

This segment aired on September 24, 2015.
