Stonehill College In Easton Cancels Classes In Response To Threat

Officials at a Massachusetts college that received an anonymous threat and canceled classes say nothing suspicious was found during an exhaustive search of the campus.

A spokesman for Stonehill College in Easton said Friday afternoon that most buildings had reopened to students and a normal schedule had resumed. All classes and activities were canceled earlier in the day. Students were given the option of leaving campus or staying inside their dorms.

Officials at the Catholic college say a "threatening message" was left in an administrative building bathroom. They did not elaborate.

Police are continuing to investigate the source of the threat. School officials say extra police patrols will be in place through the weekend.

Easton is about 20 miles south of Boston.
