As Boston Prepares For School Year, Superintendent Chang Discusses Tackling Achievement Gap

Teachers and school administrators across the state are getting ready for the first day of school coming soon. In Boston, it's about two weeks away.

There are many challenges facing Boston Public Schools this year after last year when headlines persisted over racial incidents at the city's premier exam school, Boston Latin School, which caused the headmaster to resign.

At a leadership forum late last week for Boston school administrators, teachers and staff, Superintendent Tommy Chang spoke with us about race, closing the achievement gap and the new school year.
