The MBTA says the Alewife T station parking garage will resume normal operating hours beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday after nearly two weeks of overnight parking restrictions.

The garage has been closing late at night for repairs since Aug. 13, after a large piece of concrete fell on a car in the garage. The MBTA initially closed the second level, and then the entire garage, to evaluate the damage and make repairs.

To complete the work, the MBTA said there would be no overnight parking at the garage. Commuters have been forced to remove their cars before 1 a.m., with the garage reopening at 5 a.m. every day.

The T said at the start of the closure that it was "arranging for alternative overnight parking for customers who need it."

In addition, the garage was completely closed from Aug. 18-19.
