Moderna Therapeutics Launches IPO

A Boston-based biotech company is about to go public. Moderna Therapeutics has raised millions of dollars privately as it tries to develop a synthetic version of the "messenger molecules" — mRNA — in the human body that communicate instructions to the body's cells.

Damian Garde of STAT joined Bob Oakes on Morning Edition to discuss the Initial Public Offering (IPO) from Moderna, which is reportedly the biggest IPO in medical tech history.
