Weekend Weather: Here Comes The Humidity Again

I was looking at high temperatures yesterday and noticing how coastal locations stayed in the low-to-mid 70s, but inland areas got into the 80s. This really shows the power of an easterly wind, even in summer when water temperatures are at their warmest.

Today we'll still be relatively comfortable and with the wind still coming off the cooler ocean, temperatures at the coastline will be 7 to 10 degrees below their inland counterparts.

I'm expecting plenty of sunshine although the chance of a shower is not zero.

The weekend looks pretty good. Sunday is definitely going to be the warmer of the two weekend days and it will also contain the most humidity. Saturday is warmer and more humid than today.

I think many inland areas will experience a three-day heat wave beginning Sunday and likely lasting through Tuesday. During this time, the combination of temperature and humidity will make it feel in the mid to upper 90s, with a couple of hours of 100 degree temperatures possible.

Since they'll be so much moisture in the air a pop-up shower or thunderstorm is possible and if you do get one of these it would produce quite a bit of rain in a short amount of time.

Monday is the peak of the heat. Areas away from the south coast will reach 90 to 95 degrees. Although it will be very hot the sun angle is lower than it was a month ago and somehow the heat just is a little bit easier to take.

A strong cold front will push southward Wednesday and by the time we get to the end of next week it will be much drier and more comfortable.
