Police: 1 Dead After South End Stabbing

A man died after he was stabbed in the South End near Boston Medical Center on Wednesday night, police say.

Officers responded to the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street at about 9:12 p.m. and found the victim suffering from stab wounds, Boston police said in a statement Thursday. The man was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

A Boston University alert sent Wednesday night described the suspect as a man carrying an orange backpack who fled on a bicycle.

No other information has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
