A cold front is approaching the area today and as clouds have increased, temperatures will not be nearly as warm as Tuesday.

Speaking of Tuesday, the temperature in Boston got into the lower 60s for the first time since Nov. 1. Interestingly, this will end up being the only 60-degree day this month.

As the front gets closer to the coastline, showers will tend to increase and will continue through the first part of the night. I expect the bulk of the showers between about 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., moving from west to east. I'm not expecting much in the way of rainfall but roads will become wet, and this will obviously slow down travel.

As the system continues to progress, showers will come to an end and clearing will take place on Thursday, or Thanksgiving day. There is the chance for lingering showers through about 10 a.m. This could impact some early outdoor activities, so just be aware of that possibility. It will be cooler with temperatures staying in the 40s all day, along with a gusty breeze.

High pressure builds from Canada and provides cold and dry weather Friday and Saturday. This will set us up for the potential for what would be the first accumulating snow for some of us Sunday or Monday. It's way too early in the game to determine when precipitation will fall, how much will fall and what form it will be in.
