2 Teenagers Arrested In Fatal Dorchester Shooting

A teenager was shot and killed in Dorchester on Wednesday morning, police say.

Boston police say they responded to a report of shots fired just before noon near 6 Cameron St., where they located Kareem Garnett, Jr., 18, suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

At the scene, police officers arrested a 16-year-old boy with a gun in the area, charging him with delinquent "to wit; unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and possession of a loaded firearm."

Later that night, they arrested a 17-year-old from Dorchester. He was charged as a delinquent "to wit; manslaughter, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a loaded firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling."

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the department's homicide detectives or the anonymous CrimeStoppers tip line.
