Mass. Now Has 123 Known Coronavirus Cases

The number of known coronavirus cases in Massachusetts inched up to 123 Friday, from 108 the day before.

Of those, 18 cases have been confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Nearly all of the cases — 94 — are tied to the Biogen leadership conference held in Boston in late February. Eight more are connected to the Berkshire Medical Center.

The state has not released updated numbers as to how many people have been tested. As of Wednesday, the Department of Public Health said more than 200 people received a test for the coronavirus. The state says it has the capacity to test 5,000 people.
