Local Group Hands Out Free Art Supplies To Boston Schoolchildren

Education nonprofit Edvestors, along with Open Door Arts and other area organizations, is handing out free art supplies on Wednesday to more than 4,000 families whose children attend Boston Public Schools.
The art kits will be given out to students in need who are picking up meals at 17 sites around the city.
Edvestors President and CEO Marinell Rousmaniere said the goal of distributing the supplies is to encourage creative expression among all students while schools are teaching remotely.
"Many of our students in the city didn't have access to paper and markers in their home, or they were using the paper that they had to work on their math problems," she said.
The supplies include crayons, watercolors and project guides so children can do art assignments at home.
