Today's Weather: Very Warm And Humid, But Dry

Besides Saturday morning's sprinkle, we've had quite a stretch without any rainfall. We likely will continue to be rain free through Friday, and perhaps even Saturday, depending on when the rain arrives Friday evening.

We had adequate moisture over the past year so we won't go into a drought situation yet, but if you planted anything this past weekend make sure you are watering.

Today will be the warmest day of the next several, with readings 85 to 90. This will be our best chance for 90 degree weather North of the Mass Pike through the Merrimack valley and into interior portions of New Hampshire and South Western Maine.

Humidity levels will be moderate, but not oppressive. In other words, you'll notice it in the air, but it's not going to be one of those afternoons where it's difficult to be outside. The morning will be the best time to get work done. As the sun angle gets higher, it will become hot especially in direct sunshine.

Tomorrow we'll see an increase in moisture so there may be lingering clouds in the morning along the south coast. There may also be cloudiness over the interior, but it should break up. It shouldn't be quite as hot without the direct sun.

Readings overnight will be at least 60 degrees and stay well into the 60s over the city.

A cold front will move through on Saturday, making the air drier and eventually cooler. Sunday's temperatures will be in the lower 70s – much more enjoyable for those of us that don't like the heat.
