Reward Offered In Revere Vandalism To Muslim Woman’s Car

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for spray painting swastikas on all four sides of a Muslim woman’s car in Revere earlier this month.

The Massachusetts chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in announcing the reward Monday said officers responding to the graffiti in the early morning hours of June 11, also found the words “white power” spray painted on the street.

“CAIR-MA condemns this appalling act of hatred,” the organization’s civil rights director Barbara Dougan said in a statement. “The perpetrator made his views clear with a can of spray paint. But we know that many residents of Revere are outraged by such a blatant hate crime and are raising their voices to send their own message: this kind of behavior will not be tolerated.”

The owner of the car wishes to remain anonymous for her own safety, the organization said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Revere police.
