A bicyclist was killed Tuesday morning in a crash with a tractor-trailer near the Harvard Square MBTA Station.
A spokesman for Cambridge police said the collision happened around 9:42 a.m. The bicyclist, a man in his fifties, was pronounced dead on scene; the driver of the tractor-trailer remained on scene. The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office confirmed an investigation into the crash with the Cambridge Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
Officials say commuters should expect delays in the area and seek alternative routes.
