Man Shot By Wakefield Police Investigating Apparent Homicide

A man was shot by police officers as they investigated an apparent homicide in Wakefield on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Wakefield police responded to a home in town and found a woman dead, according to a statement from the office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

Additional officers were called to the scene, and during the investigation a man was shot by police, the statement said.

He was taken to the hospital but authorities did not release his condition.

No police officers were seriously injured, authorities said.

No names were released and no additional information was made public.
