Woman Sues Malden Police Over Son's Death

A Saugus woman is suing the Malden Police Department over the death of her son.

The lawsuit filed this week claims police used pepper spray and excessive force while attempting to arrest Roger Sheets inside his apartment in 2018.

Sheets had trouble breathing and became unresponsive. He later died at a hospital.

Malden police have not commented on the lawsuit.
