You'll be able to take a train from New York City to the Berkshires this summer.

Amtrak said the new 'Berkshire Flyer' will make its first trip to Pittsfield on July 8, as part of a seasonal pilot program is slated to run on weekends this summer and next.

The Baker administration said it hopes the train service will draw more tourism to Western Massachusetts.

The state transportation department modeled the route after another seasonal passenger train, the CapeFLYER.
