What's open and closed in Massachusetts on Presidents Day

The third Monday of February is honored as Presidents Day here in the United States. It's a holiday that honors first U.S. president George Washington, whose actual birthday was on Feb. 22, 1732, along with our other presidents through the years.
For many, the holiday means a three-day weekend that could be spent exploring the city. Most, but not all businesses will be closing shop in observation. Here's a list of what will be open or closed on Presidents' Day:
Federal offices: Closed.
Federal courts: Closed.
Post offices: Closed.
State offices: Closed.
Registry of Motor Vehicles: Closed.
State courts: Closed.
Municipal offices: Closed.
Public schools: Closed.
Libraries: Closed.
Trash pickup: In Boston, neighborhoods with two trash days will have a normal collection; some neighborhoods with one trash day will see delays;. Check with your local government or provider for more information.
Banks: Most will be closed. Check with your local branch regarding holiday hours and mobile banking and ATM availability.
Stock market: Closed.
Retail locations: Open.
Liquor stores: Open.
Supermarkets: Open.
MBTA: Subway, bus, and The RIDE will run on a Saturday schedule; the commuter rail will run on a weekend schedule and the ferry on a weekday schedule.
