With thousands flying into Boston for the marathon, and thousands more flying out for April vacation, officials expect a bustling week at Logan Airport.

Massport CEO Lisa Wieland said she anticipates the airport will see an uptick of travelers starting this weekend.

“We'll have people coming in for the marathon, right? And then families, people who are leaving because of school vacation week,” Wieland said. The airport will see “upwards of 800,000 people” going through Logan next week.

Airport garages will likely be at capacity all week, she said, so travelers should use public transportation and the Logan Express bus service to get to and from the airport.

Logan Express has locations in Framingham, Woburn, Braintree, Peabody and Back Bay. Tickets can be purchased for the service online.

Passengers should also pad their arrival time to the airport by an hour “given how busy we expect the airport to be,” Wieland said Security checkpoints will be busy and it may take longer than usual to get to the airport.

Travelers can get information on parking conditions or flight status by visiting the Massport website or by downloading the FlyLogan app.

Logan is a busy airport, but it’s not returned to its prepandemic travel numbers just yet. Wieland said in fiscal year 2019, Logan saw about 42.5 million passengers. This fiscal year, she anticipates the airport will see about 36 million.

Wieland said it's likely summer travel will be up compared to last year.

“We'll have more than 50 nonstop international destinations for people to choose from this summer, over 80 domestic destinations,” Wieland Said. “So we think the airport will really be busy this summer.”
