What's open and closed on Indigenous Peoples'/Columbus Day in Mass.

Oct. 9 marks either Indigenous Peoples' Day or Columbus Day, depending on where you live in Massachusetts.

A recent bill presented to the Senate seeks to ditch the date commemorating Christopher Columbus and establish Indigenous Peoples' Day as the permanent holiday across the state.

For now, no matter which holiday you celebrate, we got you covered on what's open and closed in your area:

Federal offices: Closed.

Federal courts: Closed.

Post offices: Closed.

State offices: Closed.

RMV: Closed.

State courts: Closed.

Municipal offices: Closed.

Public schools: Closed.

Libraries: Closed.

Trash pickup: Check with your local government or provider. Boston residents can check for pickup delays by searching their address here.

Banks: Most banks will be closed, though ATMs will be running. Check with your preferred location for more information.

Stock market: Open.

Retail locations: Open.

Liquor stores: Open.

Supermarkets: Open.

MBTA: Subway, buses and RIDE services will operate on Saturday schedule. Commuter rail and ferries will run on the weekday schedule.
