Labor Day falls on Sept. 2 this year. The holiday is a chance to celebrate workers and reflect on the rights won by the American labor movement.
Before you take a break from laboring, work your mind with a historical pop quiz:

Frances Perkins. Perkins was born and raised in Massachusetts. She was appointed to the role by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933. The building that houses Department of Labor is named after her.
