Watch: Biden addresses the nation on the election, transition of power
President Biden addressed the nation Thursday morning on the results of the election and transition plans.
Biden called President-elect Trump Wednesday to congratulate the candidate on his win, the White House said. Biden ran for reelection against Trump earlier this year, then dropped out and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris 107 days before the election.
The election proved a stinging defeat for Democrats, as Republicans are set to take control of the White House and Senate in January, with a close race for control of the House still underway.
