Watch: RFK Jr. faces second day of Senate confirmation hearing

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will testify in his second day of Senate confirmation hearings Thursday as President Trump's pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

Kennedy faced tough questions from Democratic senators on his first day of hearings Wednesday as he looks to bring his so-called “Make America Healthy Again” agenda to the federal agency overseeing health policy.

His nomination has stirred controversy on both sides of the aisle, as Democrats and medical professionals point to Kennedy's support for debunked claims that question the safety of vaccines. Meanwhile, some Republicans worry he will support abortion rights, which is at odds with the ruling party's agenda.

The son of the Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a well-known name in politics. But members of his own family have condemned his nomination. Caroline Kennedy, President Kennedy's daughter and cousin of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., sent a letter to the Senate Monday urging officials to reject the nominee, calling him a "predator."
