4 convicted of running brothels in East Boston, Chelsea and Lynn

A Suffolk County jury convicted four Massachusetts residents accused of operating a network of brothels in East Boston, Chelsea and Lynn and trafficking people for sex, according to the Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell's office.

Cristina Lasso, 52, of Saugus; Jose Deblas, 38, of Lynn; Marlon Nagano, 43, of East Boston; and Jorge Lasso, 60, of Chelsea were convicted of multiple charges, including trafficking persons for sexual servitude, maintaining a house of prostitution, keeping a house of ill fame, and money laundering, Campbell's office said Tuesday.

The group would rotate a host of Central and South American women through the different locations each week, where customers would pay to have sex with them.

Cristina Lasso ran the prostitution rings, according to Campbell's office, while the others would recruit women, handle transportation and secure payment.

The defendants will be back in court May 2 for sentencing.

The convictions are unrelated to a similar case, in which more than 30 men were charged with paying for sex at high-end brothels in Cambridge and Watertown.

Four people have been convicted of running that prostitution ring, which included another location near Washington, D.C. The alleged ringleader of that operation was sentenced to four years in prison. Others convicted in the case have not yet been sentenced.
