Independence Day falls on a Friday this year, giving many a built-in long weekend.
There are many star-spangled events to keep you going. If you're on the hunt for a burst of color, here's a running list of fireworks shows around the state.
In Boston, the marquee event is the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on the Charles River Esplanade. The orchestra will be joined by singer LeAnn Rimes, Broadway star Leslie Odom, Jr. and hip-hop trio Bell Biv DeVoe.
