Worcester Food Bank works to keep up with demand during SNAP freeze

03:26

Area groups are trying to make up some of the loss in federal food assistance that started Saturday.

The Trump administration has refused to tap into a contingency fund to keep the SNAP program running during the government shutdown.

The Worcester County Food Bank distributes food to meal programs, shelters and food pantries across the region.

WBUR's Solon Kelleher speaks with the bank's CEO, Jean McMurray.

This segment aired on November 2, 2025.
