1 recovered and 1 missing after fishing vessel capsizes off Provincetown

A commercial fishing vessel overturned and sunk off Race Point in Provincetown on Thursday, leading to one person being pulled from the water and a second crew member still missing, U.S. Coast Guard officials said.
The person who was recovered was “transported to higher medical care,” Coast Guard spokesperson Keira Shantry said. They did not provide a name nor updates about the two people on the boat.
The capsizing came a week after first responders rescued two crew members on the same boat suffering from carbon monoxide exposure.
Provincetown Town Manager Alex Morse in a statement on social media said, "We are deeply saddened by the tragic capsizing of a fishing vessel off Race Point earlier today."
Gov. Maura Healey said in a statement her "prayers are with the loved ones of the crew, first responders and our entire fishing community during this incredibly difficult time."
She said the fishing vessel was based out of New Bedford.
Last week, two Yankee Rose crew members were transported to Cape Cod Hospital after they were found unresponsive on the boat. And six other people — three police officers, two EMTs and the harbormaster — also were sent to the hospital to be evaluated for carbon monoxide exposure. Everyone was later discharged.
The incident off Provincetown comes just over a month after the Lily Jean sank off Gloucester, killing all seven aboard. The 72-foot vessel Lily Jean was returning to port early Jan. 30 to repair fishing gear when it sank in frigid Atlantic waters off the historic fishing port of Gloucester.
