Dallas Cowboys Cut Michael Sam
The Dallas Cowboys have cut Michael Sam from their practice squad. Sam would be the first openly gay player in NFL history, but has yet to make a regular-season roster.
According to the Cowboys website, Sam's practice squad spot will be taken by "linebacker Troy Davis, a second-year pro from Central Florida who worked out with the team on Monday." Sam is a defensive end.
Before joining Dallas in early September, Sam was drafted and cut by the St. Louis Rams.
