For some, the days leading up to the Super Bowl are for anticipating the big party, stocking up on Doritos and lesser snacks and purchasing in bulk the various beverages that will be advertised during the game.

But not for us. Here at Only A Game, the lead-up to the Super Bowl means Super Bowl Haiku! And wait — there’s more!

We hope the "more" will come from you — as in, send us your Super Bowl Haiku! Perhaps one of the Hut-Hut Haiku Players will read it for the landmark 25th installment of one of our most beloved features.

Imagine the thrill
Of hearing your syllables
Five. Seven. Five. Wow!

For inspiration, here’s one of our all-time favorites:

Silly coach, screamin’
The call stands. You change nothin’
But your heart explodes.

To submit, simply leave your haiku in the comments below. Or, email them to us at oag@wbur.org.

And hurry up, will ya? The Hut-Hut Haiku Players need time to prepare, so only submissions received by the end of the day on Monday, Jan. 28 will be considered for broadcast.
