29-year-old Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck stunned the NFL world last weekend by announcing his retirement, and Colts fans are still grappling with the decision. But the Washington Post's Jerry Brewer says Luck's choice makes sense considering the toll football took on his health.

Also, former NFL fullback Le'Ron McClain recently made desperate pleas for help on Twitter. He wrote "the @NFL puts paperwork in [our] faces and [that's] it." This prompted Only A Game's Karen Given to look at the ways the NFL is making it difficult for former players to get compensation from the concussion settlement.

And U.S. women's soccer star Carli Lloyd recently showed off her field goal kicking skills, and an NFL team just might be ready to give her a chance during the 2020 preseason. The Boston Globe's Nora Princiotti would like to see Lloyd give it a shot — and is frustrated by the response from some fans.
