The Washington Nationals topped the Houston Astros to win the World Series. Along with the Mystics' WNBA title and the Capitals' Stanley Cup win, D.C. has nabbed three championships in two years. But the Washington Post's Jerry Brewer says it's silly to judge cities based on titles.

Also, UEFA has laid down its punishment on Bulgaria for its fans' racist behavior directed toward opposing players during a mid-October match against England. It was Bulgaria's third time in six months with such issue. Amira Rose Davis, Penn State professor and co-host of the Burn It All Down podcast — is among those who think UEFA should've done more.

And the entire staff of the sports website Deadspin resigned after receiving a memo from its new ownership that suggested the staff sticks to covering sports. Jason Gay weighs in on the situation at Deadspin and says "stick to sports" is a ridiculous declaration.
