The New England Aquarium is a nonprofit research and conservation organization that has protected and cared for the ocean and marine animals for more than 50 years. Its goal is to inspire everyone to form a deeper connection to the ocean and take action to protect it.

Opened on Boston’s historic waterfront in 1969, the New England Aquarium is one of the world’s first modern aquariums. From the sea turtles in the Giant Ocean Tank to the whales in nearby Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, the Aquarium offers a window into the diversity of life on Earth. Their research comes alive through exhibits and educational experiences, connecting people to the ocean and inspiring them to take action to protect it.
