You might call them a pessimist; Nico would say they’re a “realist.” For years, Nico has been fighting to survive and trying to keep their little brother, Buggy, out of trouble. That’s not easy, and it may explain their gloomy outlook on life in the Sac. Nico’s biggest rule? “Do not help strangers. The second you do, they take advantage of you.” If it were up to Nico, they would go on spearfishing and scavenging, staying out of the Bright Corporation’s way. But Nico is about to learn surviving is not the same as living. For that, they’ll need a reason to hope.
