It's the middle of August but the news certainly wasn't on vacation this week. The week began with a bombshell — the discovery of Philip Markoff, the accused "Craigslist killer," dead in his cell — and continued through Thursday's announcements of state employment numbers and the indictment of former Red Sox star Roger Clemens.
