The state watched pomp and ceremony on Beacon Hill Thursday, as Deval Patrick became the first African-American to be twice inaugurated as governor in U.S. history. Patrick's inauguration also marks the first time in Massachusetts history that the oath of office was administered by a woman. In this case, Senate President Therese Murray had the honor.

The main event of the day though, was the Governor's inaugural address, where laid out his agenda for the coming legislative session.

We'll speak with WBUR reporters Steve Brown and Martha Bebinger about the governor's speech and his second term plans.

This segment aired on January 6, 2011.
