This week the Obama administration said it will no longer defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act. The decision was in part a result of a lawsuit filed here by State Attorney General Martha Coakley. What will this mean for gay marriages in the Bay State and elsewhere?

Also, Boston workers joined nationwide protests in support of public sector unions. Republicans in Wisconsin and in other statehouses in the mid-west are trying to strip away collective bargaining rights of union members.

Harvard University announced it will reinstate its early admission policy giving some students an advantage in the competitive college admissions process. Scott Brown released a new memoir.
