The writer Fran Lebowitz is many things: a witty observer of American life, an author of two collections of essays and one children's book, and a contributing editor to Vanity Fair. But one thing she's not is shy.
"Public Speaking," the name of the documentary in which Lebowitz is both subject and star is directed by her good friend and not-so-shabby filmmaker, Martin Scorsese. Lebowitz will be in Boston May 16 for the screening of the film at Brookline's Coolidge Corner Theatre.
