In the sordid tale of alleged mobster James "Whitey" Bulger, his criminal empire, and his collusion with the FBI, few members of the supporting cast are as important as Kevin Weeks.

Weeks was a prominent member of Bulger's organization, and a longtime friend and confidant to Bulger himself. When Whitey fled Boston 17 years ago, Weeks was left holding the bag. He flipped and became a star witness for the government in exchange for a 5 year sentence he has since put behind him.

Now, with Bulger in custody, Weeks may soon be called upon to take the stand and testify against his old friend in the presence of Bulger himself.

WBUR's David Boeri recently scored a candid interview with Weeks. Boeri joins us to talk about what he's learned.
