Boston earned plenty of top spots on 2011 rankings this year. Some of them were not so flattering — like the title of least friendly and worst dressed city in the country.

Others highlighted the better side of the city. For example, Boston was ranked the most innovative city in the world by Australian company 2thinknow's 2011 Innovation Cities Index.

Today, we listen back to a story that highlights one of Boston's innovators. Lofti Merabet is a neuroscientist at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston who is developing a video game designed to help the blind find their way through a building — and it has huge potential.
