Another art gallery on Newbury Street is biting the dust. The famed Judi Rotenberg Gallery closed in 2010, and now another signature gallery, Victoria Munroe Fine Arts is calling it quits.

Munroe started representing artists in the late 1970s, had a stint in New York, and returned to Boston a decade ago. Her approximately 1,000 square foot gallery on Newbury Street features many New England artists, but sales have dropped about 40% in recent years.

Munroe's last show on Newbury Street ends Saturday, and she says news of the gallery's closing has spurred business.

"We're kind of laughing at it because we haven't had such a good month in a long time," she says.
