Weekend Picks: 'Star Wars' Like You've Never Seen It Before
PlayThe weekend is almost upon us, so it's time to start thinking about ideas for things to do.
Guest:
- Jim Sullivan, Boston Herald contributor and editor of Jim Sullivan Ink

What: "Cupcake: The Musical"
Where: Club Cafe Boston
When: Select dates June 8 through June 24
Price: $25 -$35. Tickets available online or by phone at 617-536-0966
More: The play is set in the seaside resort of Summertown — a stand-in for Provincetown — where everyone seems to be fixated on hunky Tom, the baker of some irresistible cupcakes, which are illegal to sell on the street.
What: "Star Wars: Uncut"
Where: Brattle Theatre
When: Thursday, June 7 at 8 p.m.
Price: $8-$10, Brattle Theatre passes are OK.
More: So bad it's good? If there were no internet this never would have happened, but there is and it is and it is nothing if not silly.

What: Bootsy Collins
Where: House of Blues
When: Friday, June 8 at 8 p.m.
Price: $25-$39.50
More: You might know him as Bootsy, Bootzilla or the way he refers to himself these days, Casper the Funky Ghost. He’s just about always wearing star-shaped sunglasses and in the song “Bootzilla” he calls himself a “rhinestone rock star monster of a doll.” Expect a mélange of hard funk, psychedelia, crooning ballads, sassy songs about the ladies and musings about extraterrestrials.
Anthony's Pick

What: Celebrating Ansel Adams
Where: Peabody Essex Museum in Salem
When: Opens Saturday, June 9 with docent-led gallery tours at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Price: Tickets available at admissions desk on day of tour
More: Adams was fascinated with water in all of its forms, and this exhibit will feature over 100 photographs, including his very first shot, which he took at the age of 14.
This segment aired on June 7, 2012.
