Boston City Council Votes On New Redistricting Plan

After 16 months of debate following the 2010 census, the Boston City Council has finally voted on a new redistricting plan. It leaves most of the map unchanged but transfers a few key neighborhoods to other districts.
Concerns over the racial makeup of the new map led to a close vote among members — seven in favor, six against.
