Political humorist, P.J. O'Rourke, begins his latest book, The Baby Boom: How It Got That Way...And It Wasn't My Fault...And I'll Never Do It Again, with this line: "We are the generation that changed everything." He's writing about 76-million Americans born between 1946 and 1964, who are pretty much responsible for the mess we see all around us today.

Baby boomers were born after the "Greatest Generation," and well before Generation X, Generation Y, and the Millennials. According to O'Rourke, they're the generation that became obsessed with "self" and the personal; the generation who insisted that a passion for living should replace working for one.

WBUR's Anthony Brooks talks to P.J. O'Rourke about his perspective on this generation, and how its actions may impact future generations.
