The Boston-based band The Ballroom Thieves began as two guys, a guitar and a djembe in a dorm room at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts.

Now, after years of playing on street corners and stages around the country, they're about to release their first full-length album, called "A Wolf in the Doorway."

The Ballroom Thieves are performing Friday and Saturday at Great Scott in Allston, and they'll be back in town next month, performing at Boston Calling.
